About me
I am a software engineer working at TUI and employed by pwrteams, which is a part of Nortal. However, until January 2022, I was in a completely different field as I served in the military as a platoon commander.
So, how did it happen that I went from being in the military to now fulfilling my dream as a programmer? ;)
I come from Kępno (in the Greater Poland Voivodeship) and spent my entire childhood there. After finishing middle school, I chose a high school with a military class in Przygodzice because I had already decided to pursue a future in the military.
During high school, I lived in a dormitory for most of the time and fully dedicated myself to preparing for my final exams and the physical fitness test because I knew the requirements to get into what was then the Military Academy of Land Forces.
After passing my final exams in 2015, I got into the military academy, where I studied for 5 years, focusing on management/commanding units with a specialization in air defense.
During my studies, I began learning programming because, like a certain gentleman, I’m always eager to learn ;) Additionally, I had always been interested in programming, but I used to think it was simply too difficult for me and that I wouldn’t fit into the world of 'brilliant minds'.
In the beginning, it was tough because I started completely from scratch and had no prior experience with computers, apart from mastering Microsoft Office, especially the beloved PowerPoint used frequently during my studies.
After graduating, I chose to serve in the 4th Air Defense Regiment, where I held the position of platoon commander, and later, acting battery commander until the end of my brief military career.
During my service, I realized (without going into details) that I had different ambitions and that re-skilling and shifting my career towards IT would be a better path for me.
The day after completing my service, I started working at an Interactive Agency, where I spent just over a month as a web developer. However, I decided to focus on growth as a typical Frontend developer and transitioned to a React developer position, which I held previously.
I decided to share my knowledge with people who are in the same place I was some time ago and want to start learning programming but don’t know how to get started.
Mission
I got hooked on programming at the beginning of 2020, and since then, I've been gaining knowledge in web technologies, JavaScript, and programming in general, as well as surrounding topics, in every free moment.
Was it easy to change careers? Definitely not, especially at the beginning when the amount of information on the Internet is overwhelming, and it's hard to know where to start.
Even back then, during my early learning stages, I was searching for sources of knowledge where everything would be explained and organized in a simple way. I did manage to find a few, but I spent a lot of time looking for information rather than actually learning.
On one hand, I see it as a waste because sometimes searching for a simple explanation took longer than the learning itself. On the other hand, it helped me develop the skill of problem-solving, which is an essential skill for any programmer and a valuable one for any resourceful person.
I would love to see programming education become more popular in Poland and for more people to get interested in this field.
I know that at the start it seems very complicated, but I promise you, it's manageable with time, energy, and dedication.
I decided to share my knowledge to explain different concepts and topics in simple language and just help others go through the same process I went through some time ago.
Whether you're an adult with a lot of experience in another field, or you're still in elementary school, it doesn't matter when it comes to learning programming—it's like learning a new foreign language. It's for everyone, and we can learn it at any age.
I decided to create a space where anyone looking for information about the web world (HTML, CSS, JS... and many more) can find exactly what they're looking for, explained in the simplest way possible.
But why? Because I believe the greatest skill in teaching is explaining things in the most accessible way, leaving no doubts or ambiguities. I personally love materials like this, and they’re the only ones I seek out. It’s not about boasting complex terminology but being able to explain complicated topics in a simple way.
Additionally, I want to support anyone who has decided to switch careers because I was in that situation myself not long ago. In my opinion, nothing is impossible; it just takes time, and that’s the case with learning programming. At the beginning, it's chaos, but with every hour and new piece of knowledge, the information starts to fall into place, and you have moments of clarity.
And finally, my 'why.' I believe that teaching others helps us organize everything in our minds and understand the subject even better.
By sharing knowledge with you, I become a better programmer myself, and I’m happy to help others.
In summary
I want every person who is looking to switch careers or simply learn programming to find valuable materials here.
I’m starting with Frontend because I believe it's the easiest way to enter this world. Why? Because nothing excites a beginner more than seeing visual results.
I hope that what I'm doing makes sense and helps you understand what was previously unclear, or shows you how to start learning programming. Later on, you can also benefit from the knowledge I aim to share with you.
